Gold Coast townhouse renovation in Southport featuring a refined kitchen and bathroom design and curated interior decoration.

A Lion’s Den I is a residential interior design and decoration project in Southport on the Gold Coast, focused on the soft renovation of an off the plan townhouse. Originally uniform in finishes and lacking character, the design introduces personality through curated materials, thoughtful detailing and tailored furniture selections, creating a home suited to an individual or a lion alike.

A masculine interior palette is established through raw metals such as bronze, brass and aluminium, paired with earthy tones and sculptural forms to ground the home in warmth and quiet presence.

The ensuite received a light touch renewal without major plumbing changes. Sterile white tiles were overlaid with microcement to bring depth and tactile interest. The original vanity and sinks were retained, while the plinth was refinished in natural stone and the doors and end panels were re clad in black woodgrain. Brass fixtures including tapware, mirror frames, handles and sculptural sconces introduce refined metallic accents and tie the space into the home’s broader material language.

The kitchen renovation followed a similar approach. Bulky island proportions were reshaped and paired with a stone kick to create a floating appearance, while the front panels were subtly angled to refine the form. Lower cupboards were replaced with a black woodgrain finish, and upper cupboards retained brass effect screens. Limewashed ceilings and cornices soften the palette and lend organic warmth to the space.

Furniture selections further the layered masculine tone, balancing metal finishes, textured woodgrain and limewash with a pared back colour palette. The result is a refined Gold Coast townhouse renovation that feels cohesive, grounded and timeless, offering a distinctive take on masculine residential interior design and decoration.
