A Lion’s Den II is an interior decoration project located in Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast, within The Lanes Residences by Sunland, an architectural landmark shaped by Contreras Earl’s sculptural geometry. This angular yet fluid framework sets the stage for a deeply personal interior that is warm, masculine, and a more mature interpretation of the original A Lion’s Den. Conceived as an experimental two-bedroom apartment, the space evolves over time with new ideas, collected objects, and ongoing creative exploration.
The interiors revolve around a rich, tonal palette, layered with textural upholstery, raw materiality, and sculptural furniture that encourages tactile engagement. Bespoke shelving and experiments with lustrous aluminium finishes, display an ever-growing collection of books, artefacts, and personal curiosities, reflecting a life lived with intention and curiosity. Decorative lighting acts as the jewellery of the home, introducing sculptural silhouettes and a warm, atmospheric glow.
Balancing comfort with restraint, A Lion’s Den II functions as a creative laboratory — flexible, layered, and deeply personal. Designed to shift and evolve over time, it offers an intimate and expressive interpretation to contemporary apartment living on the Gold Coast.
