Andrew Clemo Interior Designer QLD Australia
Gold Coast kitchen design and joinery documentation for La Aldea, a residential home renovation in Paradise Waters, QLD.

La Aldea is a custom joinery and kitchen documentation project for a high end residential interior designed by The Drawing Mill, featuring a bespoke kitchen, laundry and whiskey room. The focus was on translating interior design intent into buildable and coordinated documentation, ensuring the custom joinery details were clearly communicated while maintaining the intended function and atmosphere of the space. The project highlights the role of technical documentation in residential interior design, particularly for complex kitchen detailing and architectural feature elements.

The multi stone kitchen island presented both structural and detailing challenges, requiring support for its weight while preserving its chamfered edges, stacked stone profiles and angled cantilevers. A concealed steel frame was engineered within the benchtop to achieve this, with sequential construction diagrams produced to demonstrate assembly, structural reinforcement and material junctions.

The final documentation package included annotated floor plans, interior elevations and both 2D and 3D joinery detailing, providing clarity for the designer, builder and joiner and ensuring the bespoke kitchen and cabinetry elements were executed accurately and cohesively on site.
