As part of the broader Lobby Australia commercial fitout, this project focused on the bespoke workplace kitchen design and custom joinery documentation within the Hotels.com training facility. Designed for casual workplace use and occasional hosted events, the kitchen balances visual presence with practical efficiency, acting as a feature when required and receding when not in use.
The existing kitchenette was repositioned to an adjacent office wall, retaining services without major relocation. With no cooktop or extraction required, priority was placed on cold storage, food presentation, dishwashing and cleaning zones to ensure operational flow. A concealed coffee station sits behind pocket doors, accessible in the morning and hidden during meetings and events.
An existing column was integrated into the design as a feature element. A sculptural central island anchors the space and accommodates multiple functions, including presentation surface, cold beverage zone and a secondary preparation area, with refrigeration below.
A full joinery documentation package was developed, including 2D and 3D construction drawings detailing component fabrication, material junctions, kitchen zoning and transport considerations for site assembly. The project was shortlisted for the KBDi Design Awards in the Workplace Kitchen Design category.
